A Reminder

Hello to everyone!
I was reminded again today how difficult it is for someone who has just been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, to start a GF (gluten free) diet. I want to remind everyone out there that label reading is a must and should be a habit for EVERYTHING that you purchase. The other reminder is that there are so many "hidden" wheat ingredients in; natural/artificial flavorings, fragrances, starches etc. SO just because it doesn't have wheat, barley, rye in the ingredients doesn't mean that it is GF! Sometimes (more often than not) one has to contact the manufacturer to find out if wheat/gluten is in their products.
So please feel free to ask questions add to and/or just say hi!

Whole Foods has a wonderful selection of Gluten Free Products.
Harmon's Grocery Stores also have a great selection of Gluten Free
Fresh Markets-Have a good selection of GF. The store in Murray is now carrying Great Grains cookies, breads, flours etc. Isle 17 at this store has a GF section as well as a small freezer section.
Walmart -in their frozen food section and in the chip isle I believe they have a small section of GF products.
Target is slowly adding in GF foods. I  have found Ian's frozen nuggets and fish and Van's frozen waffles and a few other items as well.
Good Earth-good selection
Against the Grain-Everything is GF!

Remember a lot of regular grocery items are gluten free and will not be in a GF section. Look at "my favorite gluten free items" list to see some of them.
